Amani (The Contemporary Blues Poet) is a Writer, Producer, Spoken Word Artist, Singer, Actor and Creative Consultant that brings a unique flavour to everything that she does. Described as a Tour de Force on Stage, she has the ability to create lyrics about life experiences that leave you wanting to hear more. As a performance poet Amani has achieved many things she was the opening act for Roy Ayers and Guru of Gangstarr in the Jazz by Genre Series. She was booked as the headlining act at the Live Box Series in Birmingham England, and she has also headlined at the world famous Nuyorican Café in New York City. She was the international featured poet at the Word Power International Black Literary Festival and for two years she was the featured poet at the Rapso Rhythm Poetry Festival in Trinidad, West Indies. Her Spoken Word performances have taken her to CBC Radio and Television, the East Coast, The United States and the UK. A true Renaissance Woman she also has a successful speaker series “Artivationally Speaking” where she tackles difficult topics that affect young people using rap, poetry and storytelling as tools for outreach. One of the most exciting experiences for her on stage was in the showcase Ink Quest that takes place in Trinidad, where poets were asked write and perform poetry on challenging questions about life.
